Wholehearted

Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of god our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2:1-5

Dear local and global friends of Come Rest,

• On Nov. 30^th at 345 am the Lord woke me up and spoke these words to my heart, “You be wholehearted and I will make you pure-hearted.”  He wants me, and each of you, to come constantly before Him with everything that is on our hearts—the good, the bad, the beautiful, and the ugly. Give Him the gift of your whole self in the present moment and the Holy Spirit will renew you. One way to do this is to practice His priority of prayer for others every day.
• On Nov. 23^rd around 8 am I heard the Lord say, “Enter My rest, get with Me in My intercession.”   
• On Nov. 13^th the Holy Spirit took me up into a life-changing experience of prayer intercession during the Paris attack by radical Islamic terrorists. He led me to see many things while calling me to declare His scriptures by His Spirit in His name. Jesus is our Great High Priest ever making intercession for the world and wants to do it through you when you pray scripture out while resting under His Blood covering and leaning upon His guiding power through the Holy Spirit. Jesus is calling all true believers to come up higher into constant victory in Him. Real victory over terror and the evil one will not come from the White House, but from Heaven. 

THERFORE, Kim and I ask each one of you to join us in giving Jesus a Christmas present that will “keep on giving”. Make whatever changes in your daily life so you can give Him a minimum of 1 hour a day to rest and pray in Him for others as He leads. Let us know you are doing this 7 we will pray for you specifically. Call us if you want specific counsel.

• Chapter 25 in our book Real Fruit spells out in detail how to spend 1 hour alone with the Lord(20 minutes in silence, 20 minutes in scripture, 20 minutes in Spirit-led prayer for others.
• Or you can simply set aside one hour to follow the order of 1 Timothy 2:1…

Supplication—Fervent trusting requests for God’s supply for people on your prayer list.

Prayers—Psalms and honest childlike conversations with the Lord.

Intercessions—Let Holy Spirit bring His prayer list to you!  Ask Him to bring people & scriptures to mind for you to

pray; also experiment with praying aloud in the Spirit as He brings groans, sighs, and tongues too deep for words. When I don’t know what to pray for someone, I pray in tongues with their face in my mind; and also ask Him to give them His life & life abundant according to John 10:10!

• Giving thanks—Thank Him for their life, His cross, His love, His will for their life.

You, your family, your church, your city, your nation, your enemies ALL need YOU to come up into deeper, more powerful prayer for them. Give Jesus, give all men, the best Christmas present you will ever give. Start by giving Him ONE ADDITIONAL HOUR A DAY RIGHT NOW! YOU CAN DO THIS!  The Lord will help you. Come Rest will assist you.

The Mighty Christ is going forth.

What a Concept!

Dear Friends of Come Rest,

·      Feeling especially grateful to be alive in Christ today. No doubt because I’ve been memorizing Philippians 4:4-13 the last few days and opening my conversation with the Lord each morning with Psalm 63. His Spirit picks me up each time I pick up His Word and put it in my heart. I am so grateful for how patient and merciful He is with me when I don’t seek His face and don’t listen for His voice. I am so grateful for how patient and merciful I am with others when I do seek His face and do listen for His voice. What a concept!

·      I am so grateful for all of you who pray for us and give financially to the Lord for our mission. We can’t do it without His help through His people. Many more of His people and His shepherds are coming to us weary, thirsty, hungry for Him. Praise God!

Immediate Intimacy with the Lord

We invite you to join us the rest of September and draw close to the Lord in the sixth chapter of Matthew. Read it slowly daily and ask the Lord how He wants you to immediately adjust your daily walk with Him accordingly.

·         He is calling us to “secret” prayer, fasting, and charity. “Secret” means face-to-face, self-sacrificial, intimate walking with Him--by His Spirit, not our flesh.

·         He is calling us to pray the Lord’s Prayer daily, very slowly. Take time to pray one phrase and pause. Let the Holy Spirit prompt you to prayer conversation with the Lord according to each phrase. Pray like He teaches and watch what happens.

·         He is calling us to treasure only Him in our hearts.

·         He is calling us to keep our eyes only on His Face.

·         He is calling us to serve only Him as our loving Master.

·         He is calling us away from corrosive worry into continual worship.

·         He is waiting to help us. He will do the heavy lifting, our small part is to surrender.

Come to Him by surrendering your burdens.

Take His Yoke by surrendering control.

Learn from Him by surrendering your undivided attention.

He knows what you need. Rest upon Him.

Kim and I love you all very much. We give thanks that at some point in the past we have had the privilege to encourage you in your personal walk with Jesus. We look forward to the next time.

Until then, come rest in His love and see what He has for you in Matthew chapter 6. He is anxious to relieve your anxiety so He can bring His non-anxious Presence into others’ lives through you.

We Must

He makes me to lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. Psalm 23:2

Dear friends of Come Rest,

Join me in making serious, joyful time to rest and feed in the green pastures of God’s Word. He will lead you beside refreshing still waters. Prayerfully meditating on scripture is like standing beside Jesus and looking with Him into a quiet pond. You will see His reflection and who you are destined to be in His love. Let summer 2015 truly be a time of reflection, repentance, and revival…in your Shepherd.  

·           The Lord’s return draws near. We must draw nearer to Him and let Him shepherd us like never before.

·           Please continue a Psalm 64 “prayer shield” over yourselves and the Body of Christ.

·           Please continue living worry free according to Matthew 6:25ff.

·           Please continue meditating upon Psalm 23(one verse per week) & James 4!

·           Please share the following with your friends, family, churches, and ministries:

WE MUST

The Supreme Court has once again openly rebelled against God’s Word. There will be consequences.

We must make sure the greatest consequence is unprecedented repentance, rest, and fruit in the Body of Christ!

We must cast our cares upon Him.

We must come up into His purity, clarity, unity, and charity.

We must repent for our own sin and request merciful awakening for our nation, churches, families, friends, and enemies.

We must be of good report like Caleb. There are indeed giants and fortified cities, but we are well able to come up and take the land!

We must let Jesus reign in us.

We must let the Holy Spirit rein us in.

We must ask the Holy Spirit to rain down on us.  

We must enjoy the Lord and trust in Him!

We must return to Jesus as our first love before He returns the last time for His Bride.

Surely He is using what the devil meant for evil to prompt His people into purifying fire and draw the lost into His arms of love.

Draw Closer

The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. Psalm 23:1

Dear friends of Come Rest,

The Lord’s return draws near. We must draw nearer to Him and let Him shepherd us like never before. Our ministry has been on alert praying Psalm 64 and living Matthew 6:25-34 throughout June. We were awaiting further instructions on June 30^th. We believe we have heard the Lord speak and confirm the following for Come Rest Ministries through the end of August. Please consider living this and sharing this with your families, your friends, your churches. We are to…

1.      Continue praying a Psalm 64 “prayer shield” over the priesthood of all believers. Now more than ever.

2.      Continue living Matthew 6:25-34. I have memorized it and am now speaking His words over myself and others in prayer. Please try it.

3.      Begin meditating upon Psalm 23. Go over it “line by line.” We suggest you make one verse your focus per week. Memorize it. Pray it. The Lord is waiting to reveal Himself and His plans as we do this. Ask for divine appointments with family and friends to  witness to them concerning your Psalm 23 verse of the week and pray for them according to the verse as He leads.

4.      Begin meditating upon James 4 and doing what He says there! Draw closer to Him and He will draw closer to you.

Let’s make sure that the greatest consequence is unprecedented repentance, rest, and fruitfulness in the Body of Christ! Increase Prayer Shield and Decrease Worry

Dear friends of Come Rest,

·      The world may see the shootings in Charleston as racial hate, but we believe it is also a deeper attack from the enemy upon the Body of Christ to divide and intimidate deeply committed believers, leaders, and prayer warriors.

·      Please continue to spread the  Psalm 64 “prayer shield” by praying Psalm 64 aloud daily over all true followers of Jesus in your region and inviting other believers in your sphere of influence to do the same.

·      We believe the Holy Spirit is telling us to pray Psalm 64 over the Body of Christ through June 30 and await directions.

·      Check in on spiritual leaders, spouses, and families—as well as the prayer warriors in your churches and ministries. Prayer warriors need prayer covering too! Surprise them with kindness and generosity.

·      Meditate upon and consider memorizing Psalm 64 and declaring it aloud in prayer over your family.

·      Ask for divine appointments to pray for, and encourage people, with Psalm 64!

·      Also, we believe the Holy Spirit is reminding us to live Matthew 6:25-34 & Matthew 11:28-30 even as we keep praying Psalm 64. It can be intense when spiritual warfare continues. We need to take the Lord so seriously that we do not take ourselves too seriously! In Matthew 6,Jesus reminds us to not worry about what will happen to us; to walk with Him in considering the birds and flowers; to focus on His kingdom and His righteousness. If we focus on Jesus and His business, He will take care of ours! The way to fight the devil is to not fight with the devil but to walk with Jesus. In Matthew 11, Jesus invities us to Come to Him. Take His Yoke. Learn from Him. This means to daily surrender your burdens, surrender control, and surrender your undivided attention to Jesus.

·      I am now meditating upon Matthew 6:25-34, beginning to memorize it—and most importantly—taking a deep breath and actually doing it. The Lord is helping gain His peaceful perspective and He will do that for you as well.

So lighten up and brighten up even as you lift up prayers in spiritual warfare! Jesus reigns, lives in you, and is interceding in prayer for you! When you walk with Him you can enjoy life with Him in this world even while you prepare to live in the next.
