The Shield

For You will light my lamp;

The Lord my God will enlighten my darkness.
For by You I can run against(or through) a troop,
By my God I can leap over a wall.
As for God, His way is perfect;
The word of the Lord is proven;
He is a shield to all who trust in Him.

Psalm 18:28-30 NKJV

Dear Friends of Come Rest Ministries,

Superman was the hero of my childhood fantasies. He leaped tall buildings in a single bound. But Superman is just “make believe”. 

The Lord made you to believe in Him, but He won’t make you believe. You can choose Light by trusting Him in each present moment or stumble in darkness. Without Him, you have nothing. With Him, He will lead you in victory against all enemy troops of hell. With Him, He will lift you high over every towering wall. His ways are always perfect, His Word always proves true. When you trust Him, He shields you from all evil. When you don’t trust Him, He is mercifully working to help you return. He doesn’t have a shield on His chest, but He does long for you to rest on His chest. The Lord is not “make believe”. He is Super God.

The Holy Spirit recently helped me memorize the three verses above. The last few days I have been praying these verses for myself,  family, friends, each of you, and the Body of Christ. I encourage you to memorize these verses and pray them for yourself and others. He will give good things beyond your wildest dreams and spare you from things beyond your worst imagination.

Let us pray,                                     

“Lord Jesus, light our lamps and enlighten our darkness. Lead us through every troop and lift us over every wall. Your way is always perfect, Your Word is always proven true. Help us trust You in everything. Jesus, thank you for being our Shield. Amen.”
